wireless is more pervasive (because they never dropped tons of copper lines into the ground). 10 years ago, it took about 6 months to get a phone line installed at your house in china. so everyone got pagers instead, and pay phone stations sprouted up. now everyone has a cell phone.

in thailand, they dropped cable lines in the 90&#039;s.. but they used bidirectional repeaters instead of the unidirectional ones that we used in the US when we planted those wires decades ago. that&#039;s why in many places, cable modems are WAY faster than ours. In korea, consumers can get 25 Mbps connections to their home, at affordable rates!</description>
